Have you passed your SLC exam??? Going college now??? What is your transport???Now it is the begining where many riders of nepal ( specially in ktm) keep their interest in bike. At first the most important thing is "bike" than after the make of bike, power and cc ; model and design of bike lastly may be colour. After that ,desire and hunger to make their bike different than others ride take you to the garrage. Although you try your best to make your bike look cool or unique some of the major changes would be enhancing the rear shock absorber which will definitely make your ride in high altitude position, then replacement of handle bars , rear viewing mirrors , rear tyre, stickers , some colour changes etc. In each move only one thing that is in your mind is to be COOL. Adjustment of sporty smelling fairing is yet another change but not all can afford that unless you think you are the BIKEFAN.
In ktm, power of bike doesn't matter to make you fast nor the make of the bike , only thing tha t matter is how you ride and how experianced you are. Many times we see many ruthless riders covers the road of ktm making other road users difficult for them to position their vehicle because of those riders. But still you think you look COOL by doing that act. Many inexperianced riders get into accident each day in the road of ktm. Most of the time due to their carelessness and HEROIC act and sometimes due to the condition of the road . Many riders have been killed in road accident in NEPAL , which is not a new thing to anyone but only thing that is important is they might have not been killed if only they were more carefull and had sense of safe ride. Many accident occurs to converted bike because almost all converted bike are not 100% safe too ride. Replacemen t of bike parts without the permission and supervision of authorised personnel ( i.e bike engineer) can always put the rider in risk while they ride. Government officers (many traffic police)are after the converted bike and the money of those riders , although they sometimes put their views in daily papers about their interest in taking reaction over the converted bike riders and the garrage where they do so. But they don't have real interest in taking fast reaction and pu tting full stop on the word MODIFIED BIKES. It can be heard by the riders that they were fined some money because of their bike by traffic officers but they are just following the orders from teir seniors , in reallity that particulaer officer doesn't know why they should charge those riders. They arent aware of the effect of the bike they are only aware of the smell of money , that is what we can conclude now.
In the year '02 , one bikecarazy had an idea about making his bike different to others , for that he would do anything no matter how much the cost is. Although we had seen some customised bike in nepal before '02 but the rapid increase in bike modifiaction was introduced by that boy who was desperate to do something new. After 2 years the process took very fast speed that many road users specially children and old people in the street were threatened by the bikers because of the noise pollution of the bike. Many people complained about it and it was big issue by the time and GOVERNMENT couldn't sleep in that situation and they took very qucik reaction and the result was very impressive. They seized more than 200 bike from ktm only in couple of days . Many bikefan were depreesed by the action of traffic police. But still nobody took the situation seriously. All the bike owners were fined and they had to make their bike as simple as they come from factory. The main cause of that situation "( persion who started the bike modification era) didn't step back even after all those trouble. Then within a year BIKE MODIFICATION ERA began once again with full confidence and this time even the GOVERNMENT couldn't do anything as they had to fight against MAOIST not with the bikers.
These days most of the teenagers like to ride bike ( modified bike) in ktm. They request , they argue , they fight and then lastly they are ready to cry and finally gets the BIKE. Its just like the activity of sheep ( a.k.a veda , dumba); if one sheep does one thing then all have to do the same that is how they are. I ,being the rider tried many weired things in the road with the bike but never thought of being a different ( cool or unique) . I ride because i want to feel the freedom and listen to the sound of wind to my ears. Only way i can make myself happy and express my feeling is by riding. I feel all the joys by riding that many people get by partying , taking alcohol , drugs , smoking ,etc. I don't want to stop once i start riding ; it doesn't matter if i die while riding but it would be my most disasterous nightmare if i get hurt but not die. So to prevent that situation i always have too be very carefull while riding and think hundreds time while taking risky move. Each time i start my journey i only focus on the safe riding .
